FAQ
-
What if I estimate the weight or volume of my waste incorrectly?Do not worry if you get this wrong – we know it is not easy. Our technicians will advise you if the load is heavier or bigger than the amount you paid for BEFORE we load. If you are not happy with the revised price and do not want us to collect your waste we will NOT charge you the Call Out Fee. Alternatively use our “Pay on Collection” option.
-
Can I Pay on Collection?Yes! Instead of paying on line, please call us on 0333 577 2230 or email us at hello@waste-not.co.uk to book in your collection. Each of our vans has a card payment machine on-board which can take payment once your waste is cleared and you are totally happy.
-
Will my furniture be re-purposed?We do our very best to re-purpose your old furniture so that it can then raise money for good causes. Not all furniture can be saved. In the unlikely event that our expert team cannot save your furniture, it will be recycled. We recycle over 95% of all the waste we remove.
-
What happens to the furniture that is re-purposed?If we can save your furniture, it will be delivered to one of our charity partners for sale. The sale proceeds will then go to support the brilliant work that our charity partners do. That’s why we call it “throwing away for good”.
-
Do you collect furniture from inside my home?We collect furniture from inside or outside the property. We can also remove furniture from upstairs as long as it is safe to do so. But please let us know in advance if the furniture is upstairs. We send a two-person team who will carefully carry the items out of your property and into the vehicle.
-
Does my waste need to be at the front of my property? Our 2 person team will be happy to collect your waste from anywhere on your property. Please note that if the collection takes longer than we allow in our prices, we may have to charge an additional cost equal to £30 per hour
-
Do you collect furniture from upstairs? We can also remove furniture from upstairs as long as it is safe to do so. But please let us know in advance if the furniture is upstairs. Our collection team will assess whether there is a risk of damage to your property and advise you of this before attempting to remove the item. We will of course do our very best to remove the furniture carefully and without damaging anything. We send a two-person team who will carefully carry the items out of your property and into the vehicle.
-
Do you dismantle furniture? As long as it is safe to do so and will not cause damage to your property, we are able to deconstruct furniture before removing it from your home. We do have to charge you a little bit more for this service, so please let us know at the time of booking.
-
What if my furniture is too big to go through the door?As long as it is safe to do so and will not cause damage to your property, we are able to deconstruct furniture before removing it from your home. We are not able to remove a door from its frame or lower the furniture out of a window due to health and safety risks.
-
Will there be any extra costs? Not usually. The prices we charge for these items are usually fixed. If you have a particularly huge variant or you know it won’t get out of the door without some serious work, please let us know in advance so we can cost and plan the collection appropriately. All furniture which meets our maximum size criteria are removed for the fixed price specified.
-
How will I know what time you will arrive?Once you have booked a collection we will send you an email confirming the date you have chosen. On the day of your collection, we will send you a text to let you know the estimated time of our arrival.
-
Can I change my booking? As long as we are not on the way to collect your rubbish at the time of your request, we are normally able to amend your order. Please ensure you give us as much warning as you possibly can.
